How Do I Hire?

Step 1: Connect With Us

Reach out to our team to discuss your talent needs or share a job description if you're ready to post. Email us at info@sciencecoop.ubc.ca to get started.

Step 2: Post the Job

We'll post your position on our co-op job board, visible only to registered UBC Science Co-op students. Roles must be full-time (minimum 35 hours/week) and paid for a minimum 4-month work term.

Step 3: Receive Your Applicant Package

We compile student applications including a student summary profile, resumes, cover letters, and transcripts into one convenient PDF bundle. Log into SCOPE, our online recruitment platform, to review. You may also direct students to your own online portal, if preferred.

Step 4: Interview Top Candidates

We can coordinate interviews on campus, virtually or at your location, making the scheduling process for you.   If preferred, you may also schedule interviews directly with students.

Step 5: Make an Offer

Once you've found your ideal candidate, simply let us know and we'll present the offer on your behalf. Students have 2 business days to make a decision.

Step 6: Finalize the Details

We'll guide you through any remaining paperwork including offer letters, verification documents and any screening requirements, to ensure a smooth start to the work term.
