The Bachelor of Computer Science (BCS) program is designed for students who want to build on their previous education and professional experience through advanced study in computer science. Students enrolled in this second degree BCS program have the opportunity to participate in the Co-op option, which provides valuable hands-on experience through technical positions in a variety of local and international high-tech industries.
The Co-op option requires students to complete a minimum of two work terms. To graduate with the Co-op designation, students must successfully complete the CPSC_V 298 and CPSC_V 299 work terms in addition to all standard academic degree requirements.

Application requirements
When applying, the Computer Science Co-op applicant must:
- Have a minimum cumulative average of B- (68%)
- Consistently achieve at least class average in Computer Science courses
- BCS (second bachelor’s degree) applicants should be in the process of completing CPSC 110
- Demonstrate maturity as well as strong communication, self-motivation, time management and teamwork skills
- Be flexible and willing to relocate outside of Vancouver
