The Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLSc) Co-op program is intended to prepare qualified students for careers in medical laboratory science and involves work placements supervised by practicing professionals. The Co-op Program is available for BMLSc students who have successfully completed the Year 3 Standard Time Table (STT). Admission to the BMLSc Co-op program is based on academic performance and employment suitability, which is usually determined by an application and interview process. Admission to the Co-op program does not guarantee student employment in each work term. Students may be employed as research assistants or technical support staff in academic, clinical or industrial laboratories.

Application requirements
- Have a minimum cumulative average of B- (68%)
- Be a full-time UBC (Vancouver) student in good academic standing
- Demonstrate good communication skills, and a responsible, mature attitude
- Demonstrate leadership, teamwork and time management
- Demonstrate interest in your chosen field
- Be flexible and willing to accept a work placement outside the Lower Mainland
NOTE: Being eligible does not automatically guarantee your acceptance into the Co-op Program.
