Application requirements
- Currently pursuing a Major in Mathematics, Major in Mathematical Sciences or one of combined majors with Mathematics (BA or BSc). Note: Students pursuing a major in unrelated discipline with a minor in Mathematics are not eligible.
- Have a minimum of 27 credits remaining in your degree at the time of application (excluding the current term)
- Have a minimum cumulative average of B- (68%)
- Have completed, or in the process of completing the following courses at the time of co-op application:
- BSc Year 2 students: MATH 221 (or MATH 223), MATH 210 (or CPSC 210), (STAT 200 -for Mathematical Sciences only).
- BSc Year 3 students: MATH 221 (or MATH 223), MATH 210 (or CPSC 210)
- BA students: MATH 221, CPSC 210, ECON 325, ECON 326, ECON 323 (optional)
- Demonstrated excellent communications skills, leadership and maturity
- Demonstrated interest in your chosen field
- Be flexible and willing to accept a work placement outside the Lower Mainland
- Consistently achieve at least class average in all Math, Computer Science and Statistics courses
*The following courses are highly recommended: CPSC 210, 213, 221, 304, 310, 313, STAT 305, 306, 344, 404, MATH 307, 340
Note: Completion of at least one technical project (academic/ personal/ Hackathon) is highly recommended.

The above schedule is highly recommended by the Co-op Program in order for students to complete their program within the shortest time frame. Alternate scheduling might be available in consultation with your Co-op Coordinator.
Admission Process:
- Applications are accepted via Scope by a specified deadline. *
- Applications are reviewed after the deadline and assessed based on the criteria above
- Shortlisted candidates are invited to intake interviews
- Official offers to join Science Co-op are announced (July for Spring Application, January for Fall Application)
*Note: Please ensure that you apply in the respective admission cycle based on your current year. Students in Year 2 that haven’t met year promotion criteria but are meeting co-op admission criteria for 3rd year are eligible to apply under Year 3 admission cycle.
